Minnesota advocates say their alternative to Xcel’s plan for new gas plants could save customers up to $3.5 billion | Energy News Network

Xcel Energy has one of the more aggressive plans to reach net zero of any utility in the country but wants to add expensive natural gas peaker plants based on what opponents believe is flawed modeling. Clean energy groups believe peakers could be replaced with more wind, solar, battery storage, efficiency investments and demand response programs.
